Our Story, Powered by Progress
What began as a passion for precision has grown into a worldwide mission to elevate water quality through innovation.

Our Story
SWAN began in 1991 with a small team of passionate engineers who believed that water quality deserved better—more precision, more reliability, and more innovation. What started with just ten people and a focus on simple applications quickly grew into something much bigger.
Driven by curiosity and a commitment to excellence, SWAN expanded into the demanding worlds of power generation and semiconductor manufacturing, setting new standards in water analysis and earning the trust of industries worldwide.
Today, more than 350 people worldwide carry that original spirit forward. And, some of our founders are still here—still innovating, still challenging, still shaping the future of water analytics.
From a small vision to a global journey, our story is one of dedication, discovery, and a relentless pursuit of precision.

Our Milestones
1991 – Founding Years
SWAN Analytische Instrumente AG is founded on January 1, 1991 by a team of experienced engineers.
1996 – Industry Expansion & System Integration
SWAN enters the power generation market and lays the groundwork for SWAN’s leadership in water–steam cycle monitoring.
In the same year, SWAN Systeme AG is founded as a system integrator within the SWAN Group, delivering engineering services and complete sampling and analysis systems worldwide.
2001 – Modernization
The SWAN monitor concept is introduced, ensuring easy integration, high maintainability, and consistent quality across all analyzers. With the release of the Copra Silica analyzer, SWAN now covers all key parameters in power generation water monitoring.
